Screen Production & Skills Officer (maternity) - Screen Scotland
Are you passionate about film and television production and committed to building a stronger, more inclusive screen workforce in Scotland? Screen Scotland is looking for a knowledgeable and proactive Screen Production & Skills Officer to join our team and help deliver our national Skills Strategy while supporting incoming productions across film, TV, animation, and exhibition.
As Production & Skills Executive, you’ll play a key role in evaluating production proposals, identifying skills development opportunities, and working with partners to grow Scotland’s screen talent pipeline.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Head of Production in delivering Screen Scotland’s strategic goals.
Assess production proposals and funding applications, including the Production Growth Fund and Skills & Training Activity.
Work with production companies, training providers, and international partners to identify and address skills gaps.
Track and monitor funded training programmes to ensure they meet award conditions and strategic outcomes.
Offer pre-application advice, assess funding applications and make informed recommendations.
Contribute to the development of bespoke training initiatives and represent Screen Scotland in forums such as the Screen Training Alliance Scotland (STAS).
Support the delivery of the BFI Skills Cluster programme in Scotland.
Maintain accurate records of training budgets, deliverables, and operational planning tools.
We’re seeking someone with:
A strong understanding of Scotland’s screen production sector, including production management and budgeting.
Experience in assessing proposals and working with industry partners.
Knowledge of the skills landscape and training providers in Scotland and the UK.
A collaborative, strategic mindset and excellent communication skills.

Salary Band: £34,330 pa
Grade: C
Contract: Full Time, initially for 6 months
Hours: 35 hours per week
Location: The contractual base for this post is Edinburgh, however, opportunities for flexible and smarter working such as hybrid/home working are offered.
